Softball Stumbles in Non-Conference Twinbill

LAWTON, Okla. – Southeastern made its last non-conference road trip of the season and found itself on the wrong end of a pair of doubleheader losses at Cameron, dropping game one 3-0 before falling in the finale 15-7 in Lawton, Okla. On Tuesday afternoon.

The losses drop the Savage Storm to 23-23 overall on the season heading into its last Great American Conference road trip of the season versus Arkansas Tech April 19-20 in Russellville, Ark.

In game one, Kamryn Rackley would double twice to lead the Southeastern offense, while Reese Taylor added a double for her lone hit, while Sage Harlow and Kady Fryrear each singled.

Emily Simmons would get the start and toss a complete game, going six innings and allowing three runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts.

SE would put runners in scoring position in the third, but it was CU that would open scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning, first on a two-run homer and then tacking on a third run on an RBI triple before the Storm got out of trouble.

The Storm would nearly breakthrough in the fifth, loading the bases before having a run thrown out at home.

That would be the last time the Storm would threaten, dropping the contest 3-0.

SE would get on the board early in game two, cashing in on a Rackley single in the two-hole, Fryrear would bring her home with an RBI double to take a 1-0 lead.

The Storm would push that lead to 3-0 later in the inning when Ore connected on a two-run single to plate Fryrear and Sands.

The Aggies would answer in the bottom half of the first on a wild pitch, closing the score to 3-1, and would add a two-run triple and a two-run homer in the inning to take a 5-3 lead.
