ADA, Okla. – Southeastern collected six extra-base hits and pounded out 20 hits total on its way to a 16-1 non-conference run-rule win over rival East Central in eight innings on Wednesday afternoon in Ada, Okla.

The win is the third-straight for the Savage Storm and the third in a row to see SE score double-digit runs.
Â
It also lifts Southeastern to 15-28 overall on the season heading into a weather-affected weekend versus Arkansas tech which is now set for April 21-22 at Mike Metheny Field.

Cam Wheeler and
Reid Rice each homered, while
Coby Grimsley added a triple.
Â
Wesley Mitchell, Rice, and
Austin Thorp would each double.
Â
Cache Stone would collect four hits on the day to lead the offense, while Mitchell and Rice finished with three apiece.

Grimsley,
Antonio Crews, and Thorp would collect a pair of hits each, with
Brady Evans,
Cameron Cromer,
John David Muse, and Wheeler each adding a hit.

Mitchell led the way in RBI with three, while Evans and Crews drove in two apiece.

Kyler Copeland, Cromer, Muse, Wheeler, Rice, and Grimsley each had one RBI.

Brett Tanksley got the start and collected the win after allowing one unearned run over five innings with two strikeouts.

Hayden Alexander tossed three innings in relief and struck out three while facing the minimum number of hitters.

The Storm offense got moving in the top of the second inning, beginning with a Crews RBI single followed by a two-run single by Evans and an RBI doble from Mitchell to push out to a 4-0 lead.

An Rbi triple by Grimsley would start scoring in the third inning, followed by a Crews sac fly and an RBI single by Cromer to push the advantage to 7-0.

ECU would get on the board in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single, making the score 7-1.

A two-run single by Mitchell in the fifth would extend the lead to 9-1 midway through the fifth inning.

The Storm offense would explode it he eighth, beginning with back-to-back solo homers from Wheeler and Rice to open the inning.

SE would load the bases and Copeland would draw a bases-loaded walk to push the lead to 12-1.

That was followed by a Muse RBI single, and the scoring was capped by a three-run error that brought in Muse, Copeland and
Dylan Herd to push the lead to 16-1 which would hold up as the final in a run-rule shortened contest.
