Softball Stumbles in Twinbill vs. Ranked UCO

EDMOND, Okla. – Southeastern dropped both end of a non-conference twinbill on Tuesday against No. 9 Central Oklahoma, falling in game one 4-1 before dropping the finale 2-0 in Edmond, Okla.
 
The losses drop the Savage Storm to 21-16 on the season heading into a weekend conference matchup with Southern Nazarene.
 
In the opener, Kady Fryrear would post a pair of hits, while Gracie Ore, Sage Harlow, Reese Taylor, and Abby Beck each added one.
 
Taylor would provide the team's lone RBI.
 
She would also get the start in the circle and was saddled with the loss after tossing five innings and allowing three runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
 
Emily Simmons would come on in relief and allowed a run on two hits with one strikeout in an inning of work.
 
In game one, Southeastern got on the board first as three of the first four batters would collect hits in the top of the first inning, with Taylor plating Harlow for a 1-0 lead.
 
That lead would hold up for the next four-plus innings as Taylor tossed a shutout into the fifth inning before UCO would drive in a pair of runs on a single and added one more on an RBI groundout to take a 3-1 lead.
 
The Bronchos would add a run on a triple in the sixth inning to make the score 4-1 which would prove to be the final tally.
 
In game two, Ore, Harlow, Fryrear, and Channing Sarver each picked up a hit.
 
Amberlyn Walsworth got the start and tossed six innings while taking the loss, allowing two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
 
UCO would score on RBI dpubles in the fourth and the sixth innings to take the contest 2-0.
