DURANT, Okla. –
Reid Rice connected on a second-inning grand slam and Southeastern never looked back on its way to an 18-1 win over rival East Central on Friday afternoon at Mike Metheny Field.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 16-32 overall on the year and 6-25 in Great American Conference play with the final two games slated to commence on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Rice would finish the day 3-for-4 with a homer and two doubles while driving in seven runs to power the SE offense.
Â
Matt Miles also picked up three hits, one double, and drove in three runs.
Â
Wesley Mitchell finished with a pair of hits and two RBI, while
Cache Stone,
Coby Grimsley, and
Cory Bonstrom tallied a hit each.
Â
Brady Evans,
Cameron Cromer, Stone, Bonstrom, and
Dylan Herd each drove in a run.
Â
Cameron Hauch got the start and collected the win after tossing five shutout innings, allowing two hits while striking out three.

Colby Kroutil tossed a scoreless inning in relief, while
Coby Langford allowed a run on two hits in his one inning of work.

SE would bring home three runs on an HBP, an ECU error, and a Mitchell single to second base, setting the table for Rice who would connect on a grand slam to push the Savage Storm out to a 7-0 lead through two innings.

In the bottom of the third the first two batters reached on hit by pitches, and the Storm would bring home two more runs on a Rice RBI double down the left field line, pushing the lead to 9-0.

Later in the inning, Miles would drive in Rice and after reloading the bases, Herd would draw an RBI walk and Evans would push home a run on an error, taking a 12-0 lead through three innings.

Miles would drive in a run on a single up the middle in the bottom of the fourth, pushing the advantage to 13-0.

Mitchell would get the scoring moving again in the fifth with an RBI single, followed by RBI from Rice, Stone, Miles, and Bonstrom, taking an 18-0 lead after five innings.

The Tigers would pick up a run in the top of the seventh, but the Storm would trigger the run rule and pick up the 18-1 victory.
