Rodeo Trio Put on Show at PBR Events

DURANT, Okla. – Jarvis Demrey and Kieley Walz Free Riders team picked up a team championship at the Kid Rock Rockin' Rodeo, while Caden Bunch advanced to Saturday night competition in the PBR World Finals Unleash the Beast in AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
 
The first ever Kid Rock's Rock N Rodeo competition was formed from a draft format mirrored off the PBR team format that began in 2022. The five teams were chosen from a draft consisting of legendary coaches.
 
Demrey and Walz were both on the Free Riders team which was not drafted but formed from event champions from the WRCA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) Rodeo in Corpus Christi.
 
Demery was the Corpus Christi Tie Down Champion, earning $24,500 for his efforts and an opportunity to compete on the Free Rider team, while incoming freshman Kieley Walz advanced out of the Corpus Christi Rodeo placing high enough to earn her position in the breakaway roping on the Free Riders team which was coached by Bobby Mote and Lindsey Sumpter. 
 
The Free Riders team qualified seven competitors to the finals round of competition, winning three gold medals in the first round of competition, one of them from Walz who edged out Kelsey Domer in the breakaway. She advanced to round two against Danielle Lowman where she posted a 3.0 giving her the championship in round two for the Free Riders.
 
Demery had some tough luck being chosen as the team's wild card competitor, falling to Riley Webb and not advancing into the championship round.
 
The Free Riders team earned awarded a $500,000 prize for their team championship beating out all the other teams in the competition. For the Free Riders team championship each coach and each team member, including Demrey and Walz earned $27,778 for their efforts.
 
Bunch will compete in the final two days of the PBR World Finals – Unleash the Beast in AT&T Stadium is on Saturday, May 18th at 7:45 pm and Sunday, May 19th at 1:45 pm where the PBR champion will be decided at the conclusion of the competition including a $1 million bonus.
