DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern concluded non-conference play on Tuesday evening with a match against UT Dallas. Tied 1-1 after two sets, the Comets went on to win the final two sets for a 3-1 win.

Alaina Armstrong led the match for the blue and gold, posting a career-high 14 kills and 18 digs, which both led the team.
Maci Morrison chipped in 10 kills, while
Jasmin Dion pulled the string for the SE attack with a team-high 32 assists.
Alexis Williams led the defense at the net with 6.0 total blocks and added eight kills to her totals on a .250 attack average.

Southeastern (7-14, 2-7 GAC) heads into the final half of GAC play later this week with a trip to the Natural State to take on Arkansas Tech and Harding on October 23-24.

SET ONE
Little separated the two sides early in the opening frame, with UTD holding a 6-5 edge, but the visitors' lead would soon grow to 16-8 after a flurry of points. Southeastern chipped into the Comets' advantage with kills from Armstrong and Williams to trim the gap to four, and later, another two kills by Morrison helped SE get within three, 21-18. Southeastern stayed within three over the next rallies before back-to-back kills by UTD ended the set 25-20.

SET TWO
Southeastern opened the set with a 5-3 lead, and its advantage grew to 9-5 with three straight kills and later saw three more consecutive points to extend the gap to 12-6. The two sides traded points over the next eight rallies, and the Storm would pick up the pace again, building a 4-0 run to extend the lead 21-12. However, UT Dallas battled back on a 6-0 run to slash the gap to three, but the Storm were quick with their response, scoring four of the final five points to take the frame 25-19.

SET THREE
A fast start by the Comets saw them jump on the blue and gold early with an 8-3 lead that soon grew to 15-8. The UT Dallas edge would grow to eight, 18-10, and the Comets continued to hold their lead over the next exchanges, 22-14, to set up a 25-18 set win.

SET FOUR
Southeastern and UT Dallas battled back and forth in the fourth set, tied at 10-all and 13-all. The Comets found the first breakthrough on a 3-1 burst to go ahead 19-15, and they would not surrender their advantage for the remainder of the set. UTD used a 4-0 run to set up a 25-19 win to secure the final frame of the match.
