Southeastern Routs Rivals ECU at Home 92-65

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern extends its win streak to three in a row as the Storm completes the season sweep over East Central with a 92-65 win on Thursday night in the Bloomer Sullivan Arena.

SE (9-14, 7-10) shot 50.0 percent (34-68) from the field and went 11-of-27 from beyond the arc, with nine of them coming in the first half. The Storm dominated the glass, out-rebounding ECU 48-to-25, and forced the Tigers into 11 turnovers. East Central ended the game, shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 26.1 percent from deep.

Landon Condiff led five players in double-figure points with 26 and had five first-half triples, finishing the game on a 50.0 clip from beyond the arc. Chandler Dickinson saw 17 points and added nine rebounds to his total, while Robert Briley tallied a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Jalen Williams and Ethan Wilkerson both recorded 11 points to round out the scoring.

Southeastern opened up a 7-2 lead to start the game behind a three-pointer from Briley, and another triple from Wilkerson later extended the gap to 14-7. ECU stayed close with a pair of buckets and eventually took the lead on a 10-2 run. However, the Tiger's lead would not last long, as Briley and Wilkerson combined for six points, and a second triple from Wilkerson pushed the Storm out in front again, 24-19.

The momentum stayed on the side of the blue and gold, with SE building a 12-0 run, featuring three-pointers from Condiff and Dickinson to stretch the gap to 36-21. Condiff remained the hot hand from beyond the arc, knocking down three straight triples in a span of two minutes to grow SE's advantage to 46-24. Southeastern continued to add to its score through Wilkerson and Williams, and the fifth trey of the half by Condiff gave SE a 55-34 lead at the break.

SE started the second half on the front foot through Briley, who made back-to-back baskets to stretch the lead, and like the first half, Dickinson drained a three-pointer on the following possession. Southeastern kept on the gas, building a 10-0 run featuring six points from Dickinson and another four by Williams to extend the gap, and soon took its largest lead of the game, 76-44.

From there, East Central strung together a run of baskets over the next six minutes on an 11-4 run to trim the Storm's advantage to 80-55 with 6:53 remaining. The blue and gold picked up the pace again to reply with a quick 6-0 burst capped off by a Dickinson trey, and Southeastern would continue to lead for the final four minutes for the 92-65 victory.

Southeastern (9-14, 7-10) heads to Southwestern Oklahoma State for its next round of GAC play on Saturday at 3 p.m.
