SE Falls on Back End of Arkansas Road Trip

SEARCY, Ark. – Caitlin Kobiske and Kenzli Warden combined for 33 points as Southeastern was unable to overcome a low start in a 68-46 road loss to Harding on Sunday afternoon in Searcy, Ark.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 18-8 overall on the season and 15-5 in Great American Conference play.
 
Kobiske paced the Storm with 18 points on the contest, adding four rebounds and three steals in the effort.
 
Warden followed with 15 points, pulling down four boards as well.
 
Five other SE players each had one field goal.
 
Stevie Stinchcomb and Abbie Barr handed out three assists apiece.
 
Southeastern was 0-for-14 to open the game, finishignt he first quarter scoreless and trailing HU 7-0 through one quarter.
 
The Bisons lead reached 10-0 before Stinchcomb hit a three to end the scoreless streak with 9:09 to play in the second quarter.
 
Harding's lead reached 13 points twice before Warden reeled off seven points of her own on a 7-3 spurt to close the gap to 24-15 with 3:20 to play in the first half.
 
One final Warden jumper would close the deficit to 25-17 with 1:18 to pay in the quarter, but the Bisons scored the final four points and the Storm trailed at the half 29-17.
 
Kobiske scored 14 of the team's 16 points in the third quarter, with the Storm getting as close as 11 points before a late HU push left SE trailing 46-33 heading to the fourth quarter.
 
SE opened the fourth by cutting the deficit to 12 points, but the Bisons followed with an 8-0 run, pushing the Storm deficit to 20 points.
 
The Storm closed the fourth-quarter gap down to 16 points with 5:16 to play, but HU answered with 11-straight points, ending Southeastern's rally hopes and ultimately making the final tally 68-46.
