RICHARDSON, Texas – After falling behind 0-1 at the conclusion of the doubles round, Southeastern Oklahoma State takes five of the six singles matches to clinch a match victory 5-2.
The Storm was down in the match after the doubles round, with UT Dallas taking a 1-0 lead with wins at courts No. 1 and No. 3. The partnership of
Jose Pinto and
German Vallejo secured the only victory for SE during the opening round, winning 6-3 at court No. 2.
SE tied the match 1-1 early in the singles portion of the match, with
German Vallejo picking up a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 6. Just minutes later, Southeastern took the lead after a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 5 by
Djordje Kurcubic and
Luis Ching soon made 3-1 from No. 1. Leading 3-1 in the contest,
Benjamin Fracassi provided the match-clinching point, winning at court No. 2 by scores of 6-2 and 6-3.
Southeastern 3-0 returns home for a match against Dallas Baptist on Saturday, Mar. 1, at 11 a.m. from the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
