BARTLESVILLE, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State earns its second win in two days, defeating Oklahoma Wesleyan 6-1 on Monday afternoon.
The blue and gold took all three matches in the doubles round to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. The partnership of
Luke Tinnock and
Luis Ching gave the Storm the first edge in the doubles portion, winning 6-2 at No. 3, and
Benjamin Fracassi and
Djordje Kurcubic soon followed with a 6-2 win at Court 2 to secure the point.
Jose Pinto and
German Vallejo turned in their seventh win as a partnership with a 6-2 victory to improve to 7-0 this season.
SE's edge grew to 3-0 after the first two matches in the singles round, as Tinnock and Djordje picked up wins at No. 1 and 3, respectively. Oklahoma Wesleyan would pull a point back, earning a victory at No. 2 to make it 3-1 in the match. However, the Storm secured wins at spots four and five to clinch the match, as Pinto and
Eric Poindexter each swept their opponents.
Southeastern (8-2) returns home to host Jacksonville College on Tuesday, Mar. 25 at 1 p.m. from the Southeastern Tennis Complex.
