FORT SMITH, Ark. – Southeastern continued to climb the leaderboard on the final day of play at the GAC Tournament to place sixth with an overall score of 120-over 960. The Savage Storm ended the day with their best round of the event, shooting 29-over 309.
Holding on to first place, No. 25 Henderson State captured the win with a final score of 48-over 888. The rest of the top three also remained unchanged, as Harding stayed in second with a 74-over 914 and Arkansas Tech in third at +81. Southwestern Oklahoma State claimed fourth with a score of 86-over 926, while Northwestern Oklahoma State secured fifth at 110-over 950.
Karen Kim finished off the final day, shooting 4-over 74 after posting a bogey-free front nine with a birdie. At the end of 54 holes of play, Kim earned a top 10 finish individually with a combined score of 18-over 228 to tie for tenth.
Carley Button checked in just behind with a final tournament score of 19-over 229 to join Kim in the top 15, tied for 12
th. Button matched her first-day score of 6-over 76 in round three.
Lucy Handley saved her best round of the tournament for day three, as she shot 10-over 80 and recorded the team's only eagle of the tournament on the Par 4 Hole 12. The London native placed 33
rd with a 54-hole score of 39-over 249.
Hailey Richard tied for the second-biggest movement for SE on the individual leaderboard, moving up six spots to tie for 38
th with a score of 45-over 255. Richard fired in her best round of the tournament on day three, carding a 9-over 79.
Hope Walthall moved two spots on the player leaderboard into 45
th place with a score of 62-over 272 after putting together a 20-over 90 third round.
