MONKEY ISLAND, Okla. – At the end of day one at the Spring Regional Preview, Southeastern is 17
th with a score of 40-over 328.
No. 22 Central Missouri leads the 20-team field with the only score under par, as the Jennys shot 2-under 286. Slotting into second, No. 27 Henderson State turned in a 1-over 289 in the first round, while Arkansas Tech (+5) and Harding (+7) helped fill out the top five in third and fourth, respectively.
The Savage Storm holds a seven-stroke advantage over Newman in 18
th (+47) and are three strokes back of Oklahoma Baptist, who posted a round one score of 37-over 325.
Leading the Storm through round one,
Carley Button carded a 6-over 78, with
Karen Kim following just behind with a 7-over 79.
Hope Walthall carded an 18-hole score of 12-over 84 on day one, while
Hailey Richard and
Lucy Handley both shot 15-over 87 in the opening round.
Southeastern concludes the Spring Regional Preview tomorrow from the Par 72 Shangri-La Country Club from Monkey Island, and the Storm will look to climb the leaderboard on the final day.
