RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Southeastern women's golf team was selected eighth in the 2025-26 Great American Conference Preseason Poll, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Leading the poll, Henderson State tallied nine first-place votes and 99 total points, while Harding received the final two first-place nods in second with 87 votes. Arkansas Tech followed HU in third with 83 points, and rounding out the top five, Southwestern Oklahoma State (4
th) and Southern Arkansas (5
th) garnered 74 and 57 votes, respectively.
The Savage Storm earned 35 total votes in eighth, receiving six more points than ninth-place Northwestern Oklahoma State. Just ahead of the blue and gold, Arkansas-Monticello had 49 votes in seventh, while Oklahoma Baptist edged out the Blossoms in sixth with 52 points.
Heading into the 2025-26 season, the Southeastern women's golf team is under new leadership with head coach Charlie Means entering his first year leading the Storm. Means joins after spending four years as the head coach for the men's and women's golf teams at Denison High School.
SE returns two players from last season's team that finished sixth at the GAC Conference Tournament, with
Carley Button and
Karen Kim back for their junior years. Both Button and Kim played in all nine events in 2024-25 and had top 15 placements at the conference tournament, finishing tied for 12
th and tied for 10
th, respectively.
Southeastern will compete in five events this fall, starting on September 2
nd, when they head to Blue Springs, Mo., to play in the Central Regional Fall Preview across two days.
