FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Southeastern cross country program competed in a loaded field at the Chili Pepper Harter's Habanero 5K that featured 16 Division I programs. The Savage Storm finished 25
th with a team score of 654 in Saturday's event.

Anahi Machuca led all runners for the blue and gold, posting a time of 18:33.9 to finish 122
nd individually. From there, the Storm saw three runners finish within seconds of each other, as
Macie Peterman clocked a 18:59.6, followed by
Calibre Keene and
Mackenzie Robinson, who recorded a 19:03.1 and a 19:05.4, respectively.

Braleigh Wood was next to cross the finish line with a 19:13.8, and
Lauren Garza would soon cross the line at 19:22.4.
Cassandra Vargas clocked a 19:37.6 as SE's next runner to finish before
Aimee Clarke posted a 19:54.4. Southeastern would see a trio of runners finish in quick succession, starting with
Lindsey Wortham with a time of 20.01.0.
Tatum Cross followed with a 20:02.6, before
Naomi Cotero recorded a time of 20:11.9.

Next to make it to the finish line was
Mireyda Samper, who clocked a 20:45.2 and was soon followed by
Aereonna Cardenas at 21:38.7.
McKenna Wood capped off the 5K event for the Storm with a time of 22:15.5.

Southeastern heads to Fort Worth, Texas, for its next event, where they will run in the Old Glory Gallop on Saturday, Oct. 17.
