Storm Takes 15th at the Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Southeastern finishes 15^th at the Gans Creek Classic on the 6K Gans Creek Cross Country Course with a team score of 391.
 
Fort Hays St. captured the win at the meet, beating out Division I Western Kentucky, who claimed second place. Cornerstone slotted in just behind the two teams in third, while Truman and Indiana Wesleyan rounded out the top five in fourth and fifth, respectively.   
 
The Savage Storm were paced by Anahi Machuca, who clocked a 23:04.7 in the first 6K event of the year to place 67^th individually. Macie Peterman followed on the heels of Machuca with a 23:13.1 to cross the finish line in 79^th.  Calibre Keene was next to make it to the line with a time of 23:28.7 to take 97^th place.
 
Braleigh Wood and Lauren Garza finished within seconds of each other, as Wood turned in a time of 23:53.7 and Garza clocked a 23.55.6. The next finishers for SE crossed the line back-to-back, with Mackenzie Robinson finishing at 24.14.3 and Lindsey Wortham recording a 24.15.2.
 
Next to make it to the finish line, Tatum Cross placed 155^th with a time of 24:23.4, and Cassandra Vargas followed not long after with a 24:33.5. Aimee Clarke followed with a time of 24:34.3 before Olivia Cannon and Mireyda Samper crossed the line at 24:57.9 and 25:02.8, respectively.
 
Rounding out the Storm finishers, Naomi Cotero clocked a 25:21.8, and not long after, Aereonna Cardenas recorded a 25:42.5. Southeastern heads to Fayetteville, Ark., for its next meet at the annual Chili Pepper, hosted by Arkansas at 11 a.m.
