SE Begins Final Home Stand with Arkansas Tech and Harding

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern enters the final stretch of the season with three-straight home games, beginning this week with Arkansas Tech and Harding on Thursday and Saturday.
 
The Savage Storm first meets the Wonder Boys on Thursday, Feb. 19, at 7:30 p.m. before facing Harding on Saturday at 3 p.m.
 
SERIES NOTES
  • SE and ATU are set to face each other for the 44th time on Thursday, and the Wonder Boys lead the series 24-19. Arkansas Tech got the better of Southeastern in the first game this season, winning 77-62 in Russellville. In the return leg in Durant, the last 10 games are split even, 5-5, with ATU having won the most recent contest, 76-46, in 2024-25.
  • Southeastern has suffered back-to-back defeats to Harding, heading into the 31st meeting between the two. SE holds the edge in the series 16-14, and 15 of those wins have come under head coach Kelly Green. The Storm has been near-flawless against the Bisons in Bloomer Sullivan Arena, with eight wins in the last 10 meetings.
 
STORM REPORT
Southeastern has won two of its last three games after picking up a road win at Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Storm used a 12-0 run midway through the second half to take the lead and never looked back, winning 71-65 to complete the season sweep. SE sits 6-12 in the GAC standings, which puts them in a three-way tie for eighth with four games left in the regular season.
 
Santiago Camacho Gomez was the engine for the Storm against NWOSU, as he played all 40 minutes and recorded his second double-double this season with ten points and 11 rebounds. Camacho Gomez is averaging the second-most minutes this season with 28.1 per game and has played in all 24 games with 23 starts. This season, the Guadalajara, Mexico native, ranks third in scoring for SE with 8.8 points per game and is third on the team with in rebounds, having pulled down 113.
 
Chandler Dickinson posted his fifth 20-point game this season on Monday in the win over the Rangers. Dickinson leads the team with 14.2 points per game and is shooting 46.7 percent (127-272) from the floor and 28.9 percent (35-121) from beyond the arc. The Rockwall, Texas, native has surpassed his season-total points from a year ago (212) with a new high of 340 points through 24 games, bringing his career total to 742.  
 
Southeastern enters the week ninth in the GAC in scoring offense, averaging 70.3 points per game on a 43.3 percent clip from the field. The blue and gold rank eighth across the conference with 32.5 rebounds per game, and are led by Ethan Wilkerson with 143 rebounds for 6.0 per game. The Storm's struggles have come on defense this season, as opponents are averaging 78.2 points per game and shooting 48.6 percent from the floor.
 
SCOUTING ARKANSAS TECH
The Wonder Boys and Storm share a similar conference record at 6-12, while holding an 8-16 overall record. Arkansas Tech has lost its last two games after a 71-57 defeat at Ouachita Baptist most recently, and is 1-4 in its last five outings. ATU will be looking to pick up its first road win of the season, as the Wonder Boys enter Thursday 0-10 away from the Tucker Coliseum.
 
David Elliott IV leads the Arkansas Tech offense with 12.0 points per game, while the team ranks 11th in scoring offense with 66.5 points per game. Elliott is joined in double-figure points by Connor Davis, who leads ATU with 40 three-pointers on 38.1 percent shooting and is averaging 11.1 points per contest. Defensively, Elliot has recorded a team-high 32 steals, while Devin Foster is averaging a team-best 5.4 rebounds per game.  
 
SCOUTING HARDING
Harding is one of four teams to already secure a spot in the GAC Tournament, as they enter the week with a 17-7 overall record and a 13-5 GAC mark. The Bisons are riding a four-game win streak after picking up wins over Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas most recently. While HU has been excellent at home this season with a 13-1 record, the Bisons are just 4-4 on the road as they head to the Sooner State.
 
The Bisons feature the top rebounder in the GAC in Wesley Booker, who leads the conference with 8.0 rebounds per game. Booker has seven games with double-figure rebounds, including ten in the first meeting between SE and HU. Booker's efforts see Harding rank second in scoring defense, allowing 63.5 points per game. On the other end of the court, Keyln McBride leads the offense with 14.1 points per game and is second in the GAC with 114 assists.
