EDMOND, Okla. – Despite a pair of early leads, Southeastern found itself on the wrong end of a pair of losses, first dropping a 6-4 matchup against No. 16 Pittsburg State followed by a 7-3 loss to host Central Oklahoma in the Edmond First Pitch Classic in Edmond, Okla.

The losses dip the Savage Storm to 1-2 overall on the year heading into a 10 am matchup on Saturday morning versus Emporia State.

In game one
Isaac Villa,
Ryan Kirk,
JJ Bush, and
Carter Olson each logged a pair of hits, while
Jacob Ambriz and
Seve Aguirre each added one.

Kirk logged a pair of RBI on a homer, with Bush and Olson each driving in a run.
Â
Dylan Hill got the start and took the loss, tossing 3.2 innings and allowing five runs, four of them earned, while recording four strikeouts.
Â
Cody Pfeffer came on in relief and tossed 4.1 scoreless and hitless innings with four strikeouts.
Â
David Brown tossed the final inning and was tagged for a run on a hit.

Southeastern got on the board first after opening the bottom of the first inning with four-straight hits from Villa, Kirk, Bush, and Olson, with Bush and Olson each driving in a run for a 2-0 lead.

The lead held up until the third inning when PSU connected on a grand-slam and tacked on another before closing out the inning, taking a 5-2 lead midway through three innings.

The Storm responded in the fifth as Kirk connected on a two-run homer, plating Villa and closing the deficit to 5-4.

Neither team found home plate over the next three innings, however, the Gorillas tacked on a run in the top of the ninth and the Storm was unable to find an answer, making the final 6-4.

SE struck first in game two, with Bush and Olson connecting on back-to-back solo homers to take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

UCO answered with a two-run single in the bottom of the third, knotting the game at 2-2 through three.

Jax Heid put the Storm back in front with a sac fly in the fourth inning, plating
Logan Rose, however the Bronchos re-tied the contest in the bottom of the fifth and tacked on four runs in the sixth to mount a 7-3 lead which would hold as the final.

Olson finished the game with two more hits, one a home run, and an RBI, while Villa, Bush,
Hayden Carpenter, Rose, and
Seve Aguirre each added a hit, with Bush homering while Heid plated a run on a sac fly.

Jacob Fuller got the start and tossed four innings with two runs allowed on five hits with five strikeouts in a no decision.

Juan Berrios followed with a run on a hit with a strikeout in an inning of work.

Brayden Tambone was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs, three earned, on three hits in an inning pitched.

Ryan Rauss finished the contest with two scoreless inning, allowing a hit and striking out two.
