Storm Split Saturday Round of Matches

Oklahoma City – The Southeastern men's tennis program splits its round of matches on Saturday after defeating Newman in the second match of the day.

The Savage Storm returns to Durant to host Cowley County CC on Tuesday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex
 
MATCH ONE: NO. 6 LCU 4, SE 1
SE trailed 1-0 at the end of the doubles round, as LCU swept all three matches to carry the early momentum. The Storm was quick to answer back in the singles play, as Nolan Guerin tied the match 1-1 with a 6-3, 6-1 win at line five. However, the nationally ranked Chaps would flex their muscle, winning the next three singles matches to clinch the match 4-1.

Southeastern used a strong start to take a 1-0 lead in the match behind wins at No. 1 and 3 doubles. Luke Tinnock and Eric Poindexter made quick work at Court 3 in a 6-2 win and were soon followed by a 6-3 win at line one by the duo of Jose Pinto and Benjamin Fracassi.
 
The blue and gold carried the momentum into the singles rounds, as Tinnock put in a dominant effort at spot three to win 6-1, 6-0 over Newman's Genaro Dagotto. Nolan Guerin and Paolo Estrada followed the trend and put in back-to-back straight set wins at No.  5 and 6, respectively, to help secure the match win, 4-0.
