TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – Southeastern was unable to overcome a slow start against Northeastern State on Thursday afternoon, falling to the Riverhawks 5-2.
NSU swept all three doubles matches to carry a 1-0 lead into the singles play, and the Riverhawks would claim the first two singles wins at No. 2 and 1 to extend their edge, 3-0.
Luke Tinnock secured the Storm's first point of the match at line 3 after rallying from a set down against NSU's Mansur Khajimuradov to win 5-7, 6-3, 6-0.
However, NSU clinched the match win at Court 4 before
Nolan Guerin picked up a win on No. 5, 7-5, 6-1 over Baptiste Linet. Southeastern (3-8, 0-2 MIAA/GAC) heads back to Durant, Okla., to host Arkansas-Fort Smith on Tuesday, March 31, at noon.
