MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern's pitching staff allowed one run over 16 innings as the Savage Storm picked up a Sunday sweep of Southern Arkansas, taking game one 6-0 before polishing off the nightcap 8-1 in Magnolia, Ark.

The win lifts SE to 26-17 overall on the season and 17-12 in Great American Conference play with the finale of the series set for 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon in Magnolia, Ark.

Ryan Kirk,
JJ Bush,
Carter Olson,
Austin Parker, and
Jax Heid led the way with a hit each in game one.

Heid drove in a pair of runs and had a double, while Kirk, Olson, Parker, and Showalter had an RBI each.

Dylan Hill got the start and tossed five innings, allowing three hits and striking out five in a no decision.

Estevan Fonseca tossed four innings in relief and earned the win, scattering six hits and striking out two.

The opener was quiet through six innings before The Storm opened the seventh with the first two batters reaching before Kirk came home on an Olson RBI single.

Two batters later Parker added another run with an RBI single.
Â
After loading the bases, Showalter was hit by a pitch to push home a run followed by a two-run double from Heid.

Kirk completed the scoring in the inning by driving in Showalter to take a 6-0 lead.

SE maintained the shutout over the final three SAU at bats, recording a game-ending double play to preserve the 6-0 win.

In the nightcap,
Jacob Fuller got the start and earned the win after tossing five scoreless innings and striking out three while allowing three hits.

Marcus Mott closed out the contest with two innings of work, allowing a run on a hit with a strikeout.

Offensively,
Payton Poole collected three hits, while Kirk and Bish had two apiece.

Olson,
Jacob Ambriz,
Logan Rose, and Heid each added one.

Kirk doubled and Bush homered, while Kirk drove in a game-high three runs, while Bush plated two, with Olson, Poole, and Rose pushing home a run each.

SE got on the board in the first inning with back-to-back RBI singles from Poole and Olson, taking a 2-0 lead midway through the first inning.

Kirk tacked on a run in the top of the second on a sac fly to take a 3-0 lead.

The Storm added to their lead in the fourth, first on a two-run double from Kirk before Bush connected on a two-run homer a batter later, extending the lead to 7-0.

Rose added a sac fly in the top of the fifth to push the lead to 8-0.
