MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Despite collecting 14 hits on the afternoon, Southeastern found itself on the wrong end of a 12-7 final score in the road series finale at Southern Arkansas on Monday afternoon in Magnolia, Ark.

Despite the loss, the Savage Storm win the series thanks to a Sunday afternoon twinbill sweep and will head into the final weekend of the season with a 26-18 record overall and a 17-13 mark in Great American Conference play.

Isaac Villa logged three hits to lead the Storm, while
Ryan Kirk,
JJ Bush, and
Carter Olson had two hits each.

Jacob Ambriz,
Caiden Hubbard,
Austin Parker, and
Easton Ford each added a hit.
Â
Olson turned in a double and a home run, while Bush chipped in a double and Kirk added a homer.
Â
Olson finished the game with three RBI, while Kirk, Bush,
Logan Rose, and
Hayden Carpenter each drove in one.

Daniel Collins got the start and took a no decision after allowing three runs on four hits with four walks over the first 1.2 innings.

Juan Berrios followed and look the loss, recording one-third of an inning and allowing three runs on a hit with a pair of walks.

Austin Hillebrandt followed and was tagged for four runs on a hit and two walks over 1.2 innings before handing to
Brock Zimmer who tossed 1.1 innings and allowed to runs, one earned, on one hit.

Colton Clawson finished the contest with three innings of scoreless work, scattering two hits and striking out four.

Southeastern jumped in front in the top of the first inning as Olson connected on a three-run homer to get the offense moving.

SAU picked up a run in the bottom half to close the gap to 3-1, but a Bush RBI single in the top of the second pushed the lead back to 4-1.

The Muleriders answered with a pair of runs in the bottom half of the second, trimming the SE lead to 4-3.

SAU put up three runs in the bottom of the third inning to take the lead and added five in the fourth and one more in the fifth to take a 12-4 lead.
Â
Rose plated a run for the Storm in the seventh to end the SAU run, and Kirk added a solo homer in the eighth to close the gap to 12-6.

Carpenter drove in another run in the top of the ninth to cut the deficit to 12-7, but that was as close as the Storm rally would get, leaving that the final score.
