SE Football Eighth in GAC Preseason Poll

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern Oklahoma State football will head into the 2026 season in the role of underdog after being picked eighth in the Great American Conference preseason poll released on Tuesday.
 
The poll, voted on by the league's coaches, saw the Savage Storm pick up 53 points in the voting.
 
SE was picked just behind Southwestern Oklahoma State in seventh, while finishing in front of Arkansas-Monticello in ninth.
 
Harding was selected to take home the top position in the league, earning 11 first-place votes, while Ouachita Baptist was picked second, picking up the remaining first-place nod.
 
Southeastern Arkansas checked in third, followed by Henderson State, Arkansas Tech, and East Central.
 
Behind UAM, Oklahoma Baptist checked in 10^th with Southern Nazarene and Northwestern Oklahoma State rounding out the poll.
 
Southeastern returns quarterbacks Luke Hohenberger and Levay Duncan who each saw significant time under center, while the offensive line returns seven players who saw starting action last season.
 
The Storm defense was among the best in the conference in 2025 and returns 9 players who made starts a season ago, led by Dylan Sebock, Josh Johnson, D'Teaurean Johnson, William Wallis, Kamron Fields, Andrew Grissom, and Prince Dweh who each earned All-GAC honors a year ago.
 
Southeastern kicks off the 2026 season on Thursday, Sept. 3 with a 6 p.m. road contest at Arkansas-Monticello before opening the home slate the following week on Sept. 12 at 6 p.m. versus Ouachita Baptist on Paul Laird Field at Spend Life Wisely Stadium.
