Quinn Promoted to Associate Head Coach

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern men's basketball assistant coach Ryan Quinn has been named Associate Head Coach for the Savage Storm men's basketball program.
 
He joined the SE coaching staff in 2013 and is beginning his 13^th season with the men's basketball program.
 
"I want to thank coach Green for his trust and belief in me," said Quinn. "It's been an honor and a privilege to work under him for the last 13 seasons. I look forward to continuing to build upon the success we have had and to raise that level moving ahead."
 
"I am very excited," said head coach Kelly Green, "To announce that Ryan Quinn has been promoted to the position of Associate Head Coach for men's basketball at Southeastern.  During the 13 years Ryan has been an assistant coach at SE we have developed a standard of excellence within the GAC by competing for championships and post-season berths.  Coach Quinn has been a steady, dependable, and influential presence in the elevation of our program to a level of consistent success.  Our accomplishments are a direct reflection of his diligence, dedication, and determination to help our players reach their athletic and academic goals.  Ryan, his wife Katie, and son Carter, have demonstrated their loyalty by not only making Durant their home, but also by being active members at the university, within the athletic department and the community.  We look forward to this new chapter of SE basketball."
 
Quinn has helped coach the Savage Storm to two regular-season GAC Championships (2021-22 and 2023-24), nine GAC Tournament appearances and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. As an assistant for Southeastern, the Savage Storm are 200-169 and hold a 145-110 mark in league games.
 
During his time with the Storm, Quinn has helped develop 14 first-team all-selections: Urald King (2013-14), Taylor Smaller (2014-15), Anton Cook (2016-17), and Kevin Buckingham (twice), Adam Dworsky (three times), Ante Brzovic (2021-22), Jett Sternberger (2022-23), Brennen Burns (2023-24) and Kody Clouet (2023-24).
 
Quinn joined Southeastern after spending two seasons with Seminole State, where he began as an assistant and later took over as the interim head coach in his second year. While at the helm, he guided Seminole State to an improved season from the year before.
 
He started his coaching journey as a student assistant at the University of Oklahoma from 2003-08 under head coaches Kelvin Sampson and Jeff Capel.
 
A native of Chicago, Quinn received his bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma and his master's degree from Central Oklahoma.
 
He and his wife, Katie, have one son, Carter.
