ALVA, Okla. – Southeastern secured its first GAC win with a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Thursday night in the Percefull Fieldhouse.
 
The Savage Storm attacked at a .214 clip with 61 kills, led by Gabby Jones, who matched her career-high in kills with 19. Rylee Jackson and Nykeriah Allen joined in double-digit kills with 18 and 10, respectively, while Allen chipped in two service aces.

Jasmin Dion distributed 40 assists and tallied 17 digs for a double-double, and Patience Lewis led the team with 19 digs. Anger Ngeth paced the defense at the net with 3.0 total blocks, all coming on solo denials.
 
SET ONE
The Rangers held the advantage first at 7-4, following a burst of scores. The Storm weathered the early flurry and built a 5-1 run, featuring two kills by Jackson to gain the lead, and another kill from Jackson sparked a 4-0 burst soon after to push the gap to 13-9. The blue and gold continued to score in bunches, rattling off four straight points and later a 5-0 run with three kills by Jackson to push in front 23-15. SE would have to hold off a late charge by the host to capture a 25-20 set win.
 
SET TWO
SE opened the scoring through a kill by Jones, who was red-hot to start the second, slamming down four kills to give the Storm a 9-3 edge. Southeastern stayed on the front foot, chaining a 7-0 run with two more kills by Jackson to extend their advantage to 16-4. The Storm kept their foot on the gas, as Jackson hammered down her fifth kill of the set to spark a 5-0 run that set up a 25-12 win.
 
SET THREE
The Storm were locked in battle early in set three, as the two sides were tied 9- and later 14-14. The Rangers were first to find separation, taking a 19-15 lead, but Southeastern pulled back within one on a 4-0 to cut NWOSU's edge to 23-22. However, Northwestern secured the final two points of the frame, 25-22.
 
SET FOUR
Northwestern surged out to a 7-4 lead to start the final frame, but the Storm chipped away at the deficit through a pair of NWOSU errors. SE soon took the lead behind a 4-0 run and later broke a 15-15 tie with another 3-0 flurry to push back in front 18-15. The Rangers tied the set again at 19-all, and later 20-all, but the Storm answered back through Jones, who slammed down two kills in a 5-1 run to close the frame 25-21.  
 
Southeastern (6-8, 1-2 GAC) remains on the road for its next GAC action at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m.
