Sean Cooper joined the Southeastern Coaching staff in the spring of 2014.
Cooper, a native of Pittsburg, Texas, enters his second season coaching running backs and also serves as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.
In his first season he a pair of running back combine for 1,446 yards, led by All-Great American Conference performer Devlon Wortham who tallied 833 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Cooper played four seasons for Southeastern, winning four Lone Star North Championships as a player and earning all-conference honors as a running back.
Prior to joining the SE staff, Cooper played four seasons in Europe in the German Football League.
Cooper made stops at Marburg Mercenaries (2008-2009), Magdeburg Virgin Guards (2010), and Rhein Neckar Bandits (2012) during his professional career while earning MVP of Europe in 2009 and GFL MVP in 2010.
Cooper is a Southeastern graduate and certified strength coach through International Sports Science Association (ISSA) and a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
He trained under Southeastern graduate Bobby Stroupe, who owns Accelerate Sports Performance Center in Tyler, Texas.
Cooper has previously trained a handful of professional players in Europe including one of only two German born 1,000 yard runners.
Cooper is a 2008 graduate of Southeastern.
He and his wife, Amanda, have one daughter, AlleeAnna.
