Southeastern Tripped up by Aggies

LAWTON, Okla. – Southeastern got a match-high 15 kills from Emily Gentle, but was unable to pick up a road win, falling to Cameron on Tuesday night 3-0 in Lawton, Okla.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-24 on the season heading into its final road-weekend of the season when it faces Ouachita Baptist in an out-of-conference matchup on Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. before facing Henderson State on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in a Great American Conference contest.  Both games are in Arkadelphia, Ark.
 
SE dropped the first set 25-18, set two 25-21 and set three 25-23.
 
Gentle's 15 kills marks her third-straight double-digit kills outing and eighth in the last 11 contests.  She also turned in 13 digs and posted her sixth double-double of the year.
 
Megan Kunkel had a rough outing on offense, turning in five kills, while she paced the defense with a team-high 17 digs and five total blocks.
 
Madelynne Cera dished out 14 assists on the match, while Marina Dias chipped in 10.
 
Taylor Benner added 14 digs in the match and Kristin Martin chipped in 12.
 
Jasmine Everage turned in six blocks in the match as the Storm out-blocked CU eight-to-one.
 
In the opening set, SE fell behind 8-2 early and never really recovered en route to a 25-18 loss.
 
The Storm got the first two points of the second set and held leads throughout the first half of the set until the Aggies used a 5-0 run to take a 17-13 lead and held off an SE rally for a 25-21 win.
 
SE got off to another good start, jumping in front 6-1 early, but another CU run, this one a 12-3 streak put the Storm down 13-9.  That lead would extend to 17-11 before would rally to close to within one point at 23-22, but the Aggies would score two fo the last three points and take the clinching set 25-23.
