SHERMAN, Texas – Southeastern cruised to a 9-0 win over Austin College in its first duel matchup of the 2012-13 season played in Sherman, Texas, on Tuesday.
The Savage Storm were dominant in in the outing, winning all six singles matched in straight sets and losing just a total of six games within those matches.
SE jumped to a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles play thanks to overpowering performances at all three positions.
Luka Radulovic and
Martin Bedecarratz picked up the win at No. 1 but were challenged the most, winning by an 8-2 score.
Laurent Veith and
Laercio Lobo picked up an 8-1 win at No. 2, while
Renato Joao and
Billy Haugen matched it with an 8-1 win at No. 3.
Radulovic woulc continue to play well, scoring a 6-1, 6-1 win over Tylor Roush in the top singles position.
Veith, Bedecarratz and Joao would each cruise to shutout, straight-set wins, doing so at the NO. 2, No. 4 and No. 6 positions.
Lobo snagged a 6-0, 6-1 win over Jack Kunde at No. 3, while Haugen faced the stiffest challenge in singles but ultimately picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Davin Smith at No. 5.
In an extra matchup, SE's
Chris Burns continued the Storm domination by handing Davin Miller a 6-0, 6-1 loss.
Southeastern will be back on the court Oct. 12-13 at the Collin County Tournament in Plano, Texas.
