TOPEKA, Kan. –Southeastern's offense never got off the ground, as No. 4 Washburn handed the Savage Storm a 3-0 loss on Friday night at the Washburn Regional Crossover in Topeka, Kan.
The loss dips SE to 2-15 on the season while WU improves to 16-1.
The Storm will be back on the court on Saturday with a 9 am matchup with Missouri Western State before closing out the event with a 3:30 p.m. contest against Truman State.
Megan Kunkel and
Ariel Sanders each turned in three kills to lead SE offensively on a night when the Storm could get little to fall, finishing with a -.043 hitting percentage.
Marina Dias would lead the way in the setter role with five assists, while
Madelynne Cera shipped in three. Cera also added two kills and two digs.
Kristin Martin led the back row for the Storm with seven digs, while
Taylor Benner and
Emily Gentle were right behind with six.
Sanders,
Natasha Smith and
Jasmine Everage each collected two blocks as SE finished with 5.0 team blocks.
