DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to carry its season-opening momentum into its Thursday night meeting with Union at 7:30 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
Both teams come into the contest at 1-0 on the season, with the Savage Storm coming off a 124-55 romp against Dallas Christian, while UU enters the contest after an 86-70 win over Central Baptist.
In that season opening win over DCC, SE put seven players in double-figures, led by
Urald King's 25 point outing.
He was joined at the 20-point plateau by
Steven Kohli who posted 20 points, while
Quinton Threadgill and Andris Mister each added 14.
Travis Timmons,
Chris Roussell and
Andis Malahovskis rounded out the Storm players with 10-plus points.
Timmons wrapped up his double-double, one of four in the game, by dishing out a school record 16 assists.
King, Kohli and Malahovskis each had double-doubles with points and rebounds. King and Malahovskis each posted 13 boards, while Kohli chipped in 10.
The Storm shot 63.9 percent from the field in the game, including an impressive 72.2 percent in the first half.
The Bulldogs were led in their season-opening win by Anthony Freeman Jr. and Dani Marti who each posted 20 points, while AJ Roberts was right behind at 18.
Roberts paced the club on the boards with 11 rebounds to round out the team's only double-double.
Gio Koguashvilli dished out a team-high eight assists to lead UU in that category.
