SE Volleyball Set to Open Season

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball will open the 2012 season when it heads to San Antonio, Texas, to face some tough competition in the Rattler-Hilltopper Classic on Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, beginning with a nationally-ranked Angelo State squad at 1 p.m. on Friday.
 
The Savage Storm will run the gauntlet of former Lone Star Conference rivals.  SE will face Midwestern State at 5 p.m. on Friday and Abilene Christian at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
 
The Storm will play host St. Mary's at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
 
Southeastern is coming off a 14-19 season last year that saw them post the most conference wins in school history with 10 and the highest finish in the conference standings at third.
 
The Storm will be looking to build off of its first trip to the postseason in team history after advancing to the conference tournament to end the 2011 season.
 
Southeastern will play a pair of road tournaments before opening the home portion of the season with a 7 p.m. matchup with new Great American Conference member Southern Nazarene in Bloomer Sullivan Gym.
