Volleyball Hosts Pair of GAC Foes

COMMERCE, Texas – Southeastern will look to get back in the win column when it hosts a pair of Great American Conference opponents on Sept. 28 and 29 in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.
 
The Savage Storm will open the busy weekend with Arkansas Tech at 7 p.m. on Friday and then host Harding for a Saturday night contest, also at 7 p.m.
 
SE enters the weekend with a 2-10 record on the year after a 3-0 loss on the road to Texas A&M-Commerce, and are 1-2 in league play.
 
ATU comes to town with an 11-5 mark overall on the season and a 3-1 record in the GAC, while the Bison are 10-4 on the year and 3-0 in conference.
 
Megan Kunkel leads the Southeastern offense on the season with 3.03 kills per set, while Emily Gentle is neck-and-neck with 3.00 kps.
 
Madelynne Cera handles the setting duties and dishes out 6.55 assists per set while adding 1.23 kps and picking up 2.83 digs per set.
 
Taylor Benner leads the defensive charge across the back row as the libero is averaging 4.05 digs per set, while four others are chipping in two or more dps.
 
Natasha Smith and Jasmine Everage provide the defense at the net, with Smith averaging 0.87 blocks per set while Everage is not far behind at 0.77 bps.
 
For the Golden Suns, Carly Florian and Sara Motsinger lead the way on offense, each averaging over 3.00 kps, while Amber Serillos is dishing out 11.19 aps.
 
Defensively Morgan McKellar is averaging 3.79 digs per set, while Brittany Ryan has amassed 66 blocks on the season.
 
For HU, Mollie Arnold leads the way with 3.82 kills per set, while Amber Schinzing is averaging 10.53 assists per set.
 
Lisa Copeland leads the Bison back row with 4.47 dps, while Alyssa Short has posted 49 blocks on the year.
