DURANT, Okla. – Southastern opened a three-match home stand and snapped a four-match losing skid with a 3-1 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 11-15 overall on the year and 5-6 in Great American Conference play, and will be back on the court on Nov. 5 when it hosts Southern Nazarene at 7 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Gym.

SE dominated the first set en route to a 25-8 win, but saw the Rangers draw even with a 25-23 win in set two.

The Storm pulled away in the third set with a 25-15 win, but had to battle for extra points in the clincher for a 26-24 win.

Megan Kunkel turned in a match-high 15 kills while hitting .306, while
Emily Gentle was right behind with 13 kills and a .379 hitting percentage.Â
Courtney Miller also added double-digit kills with 11.

Madelynne Cera dished out 39 assists for the match with four kills, 12 digs and a pair of blocks.

Taylor Benner led a group of five players with double-digit digs with 16, while Gentle added 15, Miller chipped in 13 and the duo of Cera and Kunkel each turned in 12.

Julia Benford patrolled the net with four blocks on the match ,while SE tallied 10 as a team.
