SE Baseball Hosts Texans on Tuesday

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will aim to take its record back above .500 when it hosts Tarleton State at noon on Tuesday at The Ballpark in Durant.
 
The Savage Storm come into the contest at 5-6 overall on the season, but are 3-2 against non-conference opponents.
 
SE is coming off a 1-2 series on the road against Ouachita Baptist in which only gave up three runs each in its losses, but were unable to get the bats going.
 
The Storm pitching staff has been steady thus far on the season, posting a team ERA of 3.41 on the year, while opposing pitchers have combined for a 3.65 ERA against SE.
 
Southeastern has allowed a total of 54 runs, but only 37 of them have been earned.
 
Cameron Mann has posted a team-best 2.51 ERA with a 1-0 record and a pair of saves in six relief appearances.
 
Vance Woodruff leads the starters in ERA with a 2.55 mark, but has been saddled with two losses in three starts despite striking out 17 and holding opponents to a .219 average.
 
Brandon Marris has fallen to similar misfortunes, posting a reasonable 3.42 ERA only to see his record fall to 0-2.
 
The Storm bats have been somewhat cool to open the season, with Ryan Salter leading the squad with a .318 batting average after posting 14 hits, including a pair of doubles, along with three RBI out of the leadoff spot.  He also leads the team with 10 stolen bases.
 
SE has five guys between .250 and .290, with Evan Ramsey leading that group after working himself into the everyday lineup he has amassed a team-high 10 RBI with two homers and a triple.
 
Tarleton State comes into the midweek matchup with a 6-4-1 record on the year, but have won three in-a-row as they breezed through a weekend series against Arlington Baptist.
 
TSU has played five games against three different GAC foes and came out with a 1-3-1 record.
 
The Texans are led on offense by Alvaro Moreno who carries a .372 average with a pair of doubles, a home run and eight RBI.
 
Four other TSU players are hitting over .300 on the year, with Ryan Small and Colten Boothe also matching Moreno's team lead in RBI at eight.
 
Matt Buckmaster leads the pitching staff with a 2-1 record and a 0.00 ERA in three starts, while Troyal Yosko has picked up a pair of wins in relief.
 
The Storm will follow up its midweek contest by getting back into conference play by hosting Harding with a noon double-header slated for March 2 and a 2 p.m. contest on March 3, all at The Ballpark in Durant.
