DURANT, Okla. – Following the conclusion of the 2024-25 sports seasons Southeastern Athletics has named its Male and Female Athletes of the Year with
Ruthie Forson and
Caitlin Kobiske sharing the women's honor and
Wesley Mitchell picking up the honor on the men's side.

In addition to the overall yearly honors, the sports of baseball as well as men's and women's tennis have named their MVPs following the conclusions of their seasons.
Â
Brady Evans was named the baseball team MVP, while Luke Tinnock was named the men's tennis MVP with Sara Gonzalez picking up the women's tennis honor.

Mitchell, a senior from Katy, Texas, picked up two first team all-region honors in addition to being named the Great American Conference Player of the Year as well as a first team All-GAC selection.

He leads or is ranked in the top-10 in the GAC of nearly every major offensive stat category. He leads the conference in home runs with 21, and total bases with 151, and is ranked second in slugging percentage and third in RBI.

His 73 hits on the season rank fifth in the league, while his .386 batting average is sixth in the league as are his 15 doubles.

Forson, a senior from Denton, Texas, picked up Great American Conference Setter of the Year honors in volleyball and was a first team All-GAC selection after dishing out 971 assists across 110 sets, averaging a GAC sixth-best 8.83 assists per set. Along with helping set her teammates, she slammed down 250 kills of her own and recorded 296 digs this season, picking up nine triples-doubles in the process – the second most by a player across Division II this season. Â

On her way to helping SE to a 3-2 win against Arkansas Tech she turned in the conference's first quadruple-double, registering 13 kills, 44 assists, 14 digs and 10.0 total blocks. The graduate setter would earn AVCA National Player of the Week honors for her efforts in the win and was named GAC Setter of the Week.

Kobiske, a senior from Keller, Texas, closed out her final season with All-Central Region honors on the heels of picking up a unanimous first team All-GAC selection.

Fors the season, she put up 17.9 points per game offensively while shooting 46.7 percent overall from the field and 42.7 percent from beyond the arc. She added an 83.9 percent shooting effort at the free throw line where she ranked at or near the top of the conference in attempts, made free throws and percentage.

She also finished the season with 5.6 rebounds per contest, while adding 1.6 assists and 1.1 steals per outing.

Kobiske tallied 556 points on the year which ranks as the sixth-best single season in SE history.
Â
In addition to her stellar senior season, Kobiske closes her Southeastern career with 1,572 points which ranks fourth on the school's career scoring list while her 603 rebounds puts her in ninth all-time.
