SE Baseball Set for Road Series vs. SWOSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern baseball jumps back into Great American Conference play as it travels to Weatherford, Okla., to take on Southwestern Oklahoma State in a three-game series beginning with a noon doubleheader on Thursday, April 2, with the series finale slated for 1 p.m. on April 3.
 
The Savage Storm head into the weekend with a 20-14 schedule overall on the season and a 12-9 mark in GAC play.
 
SE is led by a trio of league-leading home run hitters as Carter Olson, JJ Bush, and Ryan Kirk each have 13 homers on the year.
 
Olson ranks second in the GAC in RBI with 43, while Kirk and Bush are also in the top-10 with 38 and 26, respectively.
 
Isaac Villa is hitting .349 in the leadoff spot and is tied for third in the conference in stolen bases with 16 and is second in runs scored with 44.
 
Southeastern leads the league as a team in home runs with 68 and is third in runs scored on the season at 290.
 
The Storm pitching staff is led by Estevan Fonseca who is 4-2 on the year with 5.56 ERA, while Dylan Hill has tallied a team-best 26 strikeouts.
 
Brock Zimmer has logged three saves on the year and carries a 0.00 ERA out of the bullpen, while Cody Pfefer has a pair of saves and three wins with a 1.73 ERA.
 
SWOSU comes into the weekend with a 16-19 record overall on the season and a 7-14 mark in league play.
 
The Bulldogs are led on offense by Landon Meyer who is hitting .390 with eight home runs, while Nolan McCrossin has a team-best 40 RBI.
 
Josh Doelitsch leads the pitching staff with a 2-2 record and a 7.71 ERA with 33 strikeouts, while Garrett Folmer has a team-high three wins on the hill and Kaegan Baker has two of the team's three saves in relief.
