Olson Leads Trio of ABCA All-Region Picks

DURANT, Okla. – Carter Olson led the way as a third set of All-Central Region honors came rolling in, earning first team ABCA recognition while JJ Bush and Ryan Kirk picked up second team awards.
 
Olson will be up for All-American honors from the ABCA which will be selected at a later date.
 
Olson has picked up first team all-region honors with the ABCA and the NCBWA, while Bush was a first team pick with the NCBWA. Kirk is a second team selection for all three organizations.
 
Olson and Bush each earned All-American honors from the NCBWA.
 
Bush earned first team All-GAC honors and Great American Conference Newcomer of the Year Award and was joined on the first team by Ryan Kirk and Carter Olson.
 
Olson, a senior first baseman from Mansfield, Texas, closed the season with a .373 average and is fourth nationally in home runs with 23 while leading the team in RBI with 69 along with 11 doubles and a .982 fielding percentage.
 
Bush, a senior outfielder from Corpus Christi, Texas, finished the season with a .363 average while ranking 10^th in the nation in home runs with 21.  He added 58 RBI and 64 runs scored while chipping in 15 doubles and stealing 12 bases.
 
Kirk, a senior second baseman from Yorba Linda, Calif., finished the season with a .318 average that included 13 doubles, 16 home runs and 57 RBI to go with 53 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.
