DURANT, Okla. – The Southeastern men's and women's tennis teams will close out the regular season on Monday afternoon, April 15 when they host Harding at 1 p.m. at the Southeastern Tennis Complex in a match that will serve as senior day for four Savage Storm seniors playing their final home match.
The women feature just one senior in
Andreea Georgescu who has spent three seasons on the SE roster, while
Luka Radulovic,
Filip Pavlovic and
Laercio Lobo will be competing in their final home matches for the men.
The men are coming off a big win over rival No. 48 East Central last time out ion which the Storm cruised to a 7-2 victory that lifted the team's record to 12-9 overall and 1-1 in Great American Conference play.
The Storm, currently ranked Nol. 46 nationally, are fighting for a regional berth and a win over HU on Monday would prove to be a big help in that as the teams prepare for the GAC tournament which is set for April 19-21 in Bentonville, Ark.
The women are looking to rebound from a tough 7-2 defeat at the hands of rival ECU as SE seeks to snap a five-match losing skid to finish the season on a high note.
The Storm comes into the contest at 6-11 overall on the season and will be aiming to even its conference record which currently stands at 2-3.
The women are also working to better their seed in the GAC tournament held concurrently with the men as SE and HU are currently tied in the standings with a 2-3 record.
The Bison men are currently in fourth out of the GAC's four teams with an 11-5 record overall, but an 0-2 mark in league play.
Their women's squad enters play at 10-7 overall and 2-3 in GAC play.
