DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will work on a short turnaround and look to carry its momentum on the road as it makes the short trip north to Ada, Okla., to take on East Central on Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.

The Savage Storm are coming off back-to-back wins over teams in the top three in the Great American Conference standings, adding a 3-2 win over Southern Nazarene on Tuesday to the 3-1 win the team collected against Harding over the weekend.

The wins lifted the SE record to 10-8 overall on the season and 4-2 in GAC play.
Â
Southeastern will face an ECU team that is 3-16 overall on the year and 0-7 in conference play in the midst of a five-match losing skid.

The Storm will be taking to the road however after a three-match home stand with the Tigers being the first of six-straight opponents on the road over the next two-plus weeks.

SE is riding high after picking up the victory over SNU in a back-and-forth match that needed five sets to settle before the Storm took the final set 15-13 for the 3-2 win.

Southeastern put four players in double-digits in kills in that match, led by 17 from
Megan Kunkel, while defensively
Kelsey Zerkel turned in 23 digs and
Emily Gentle tallied 20.

For the season, Kunkel has taken over the top spot in kills by averaging 3.00 kills per set, while Gentle is right behind at 2.80 and
Julia Benford is at 2.21.

Alissa Benson dished out 42 assists in the SNU win and is averaging 8.21 assists per set on the year.

Zerkel leads the defense with 3.94 digs, while Kunkel is picking up 3.03 per set and two others are averaging more than two per set.

Ariel Sanders leads the net defense with 51 blocks on the season, with Benford and Gentle right on her heels at 50 each.

The Tigers are paced on offense by Madyson Gill who is averaging 2.66 kills per set, while Madison Seiler is dishing out 8.38 assists per set.

Defensively, Dahyana Essix is averaging 3.03 digs per set, while Hayley Gerken has 46 total blocks.
