Volleyball Tripped up by Bronchos

Box Score DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern opened day two of the South Central Classic on the wrong end of a 3-0 score against Central Oklahoma on Saturday morning in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 3-5 overall on the year with one final match remaining on the weekend against Missouri Southern State at 4 p.m.
 
Emily Gentle led the SE offense with 11 kills and hit .308, while Courtney Miller added five.
 
Alissa Benson and Madelynne Cera split the setting duties, with Benson dishing out 15 assists while Cera added nine.
 
Gentle turned in a double-double with a team-high 10 digs, while Kelsey Zerkel added eight digs.
 
The opening set started off even before Southeastern used a 5-0 run to open up an 11-8 lead.
 
The Bronchos would answer with four-straight points to retake the lead.
 
SE would tie the score at 12-12, but UCO would outscore the Storm 13-5 over the final half of the set for a 25-17 win.
 
Set two opened with the Bronchos jumping ahead and SE bouncing back and knotting the score at 4-4.
 
UCO then put together a 6-1 run to mount a 10-5 lead and would pull away for the 25-11 win in set two.
 
The teams traded runs to open the third set, fighting to a 9-9 tie.
 
The Bronchos would then reel off three-straight points and slowly mount a 17-11 lead.
 
SE would pick away and close to within four at 23-19, but UCO scored the final two points for the 25-19 win in the clinching set.
