Volleyball Sets Out to Face NWOSU

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will look to stretch its Great American Conference winning streak to three matches on Oct. 2 when it travels to Alva, Okla., to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m.
 
The Savage Storm come into the matchup with a 4-11 record overall on the year and a 2-2 mark in league play, but have won their last two GAC contests with a 3-0 win over East Central and a 3-1 win last time out against Southwestern Oklahoma State.
 
The Rangers enter the weekend with a 2-11 record on the year and have dropped nine in-a-row, including all three of its GAC contests.
 
SE is coming off an effort in which they hit .313 as a team and won nearly every stat category while knocking off a previously unbeaten in GAC play SWOSU team.
 
Abby Jameson led that charge with her first career 20-20 game, posting 20 kills and 20 digs on the night.
 
Arianna Baker added a 14 kill effort, hitting .619 in the process.
 
Jameson has been the sparkplug on the season, averaging 3.81 kills per set to lead the team, while Julia Benford is adding 2.54 per set and Baker is just short of two per set.
 
Alissa Benson has lifted her assists per set average to 9.12 and is chipping in on defense as well with 2.00 digs per set and 22 total blocks.
 
Charlene Nerio leads the way in digs at 3.98 per set, while Jameson and Benson are at 2.00 or more each.
 
At the net, Baker leads the defense with 32 total blocks and Benford is on her heels at 30.
 
NWOSU leans on Nora To'omalatai on the attack as she has 3.82 kills per set, while Kaydee Yukawa is dishing out a team-high 5.38 assists per set.
 
Defensively, Carley Greer is picking up 4.11 digs per set, while Natalie Fahey patrols the net with 26 total blocks.
