DENTON, Texas – A slow start doomed Southeastern to a 3-0 loss at Texas Woman's in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night in Denton, Texas.

The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-18 as they jump back into Great American Conference play Oct. 23 against Southern Arkansas at 6 p.m. in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.

The Storm dropped the opening set 25-9 on the strength of a 13-1 run by the Pioneers which ended the set.

In the second set SE fell behind 7-1 early and would get as close as five as it got the offense going, but a 6-0 run to end the set left them on the wrong end of a 25-12 score.

The third set was back-and-forth, with the Storm using a 5-1 run of its own to open up a 12-9 lead, but an 11-1 run left them in a hole that a late rally could not get them out of, falling 25-18 in the final set.

Arianna Baker led the offense with nine kills, while
Abby Jameson was right behind with eight.

Alissa Benson dished out 18 assists on the night and added 13 digs along with a block.

Her 13 digs led the back row defense with Jameson next at nine and
Kristi Carter at eight.

At the net Baker turned in a pair of blocks as SE finished with three as a team.
