SE Sets Out to Face Bulldogs

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will hit the road for Weatherford, Okla., as it looks to put together back-to-back conference wins when it takes on Southwestern Oklahoma State at 7 p.m. on Oct. 29
 
The Savage Storm are 5-19 on the year and 3-8 in Great American Conference play, but are coming off a 3-0 win over Arkansas-Monticello.
 
In that outing Julia Benford dominated with a 22 kill performance, including scoring nine of the match's last 10 points to clinch the win.
 
On the season she has lifted her kills per set to 2.84, while Abby Jameson continues to pace the squad with 3.63 kps.
 
Alissa Benson is dishing out 9.18 assists per set to drive the offense, while adding 2.12 digs per set and 38 total blocks on the defensive side.
 
Charlene Nerio leads that defense in digs with 4.20 per set, while Jameson is next at 2.69 and six others average at least one per set.
 
At the net the defense is led by Arianna Baker who has jumped out to 58 blocks on the year overall, while Benford is next up at 49.
 
The Storm took the first meeting between the schools 3-1 in Durant with Jameson turning in her second 20-kill outing of the year and turning in her first ever 20-kill, 20-dig performance.
 
In that match SE hit .313 on the night, while holding the Bulldogs to a .162 mark.
 
SWOSU comes into the matchup at 16-8 overall and 8-3 in league play.
 
They are paced offensively by Carly Zak who is posting 3.75 kills per set, while Kayla Hebert is dishing out 9.91 assists per set.
 
Kaila Lancaster leads the defense with 4.15 digs per set, while at the net Paige Holt has piled up 64 total blocks.
