Football | 10/8/2015 11:11:00 PM

DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern sets out looking for its fourth-straight win when it makes its longest in-state road trip of the year to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, in Alva, Okla.

The Savage Storm moved to 3-2 on the year and won its third-straight game in one of its odder fashions, an 8-0 victory over Southwestern Oklahoma State.

The Rangers come into the contest after a two-game road swing and have lost four in-a-row, including a 42-30 loss at East Central a week ago.

The SE defense has been the story as they have clamped down on opponents, leading the GAC I total defense at 279.6 yards per game allowed while also leading the way in pass defense at 130.6 yards per game allowed.

The defense is 11th in the nation in passing yards allowed and 15th in total defense.

Kevin Jones leads the defense in tackles with 29, while Raheem Wilson is next in line at 21 with three interceptions, four pass breakups and a defensive touchdown.

The special teams have been solid as well, especially in the win over SWOSU where Joel Carlos connected on a pair of field goals to provide six of the eight points while also averaging over 40 yards per punt ad pinning the Bulldogs inside the 20 three times.

The offense is triggered by Ryan Polite who has taken a back seat to the running game in recent weeks, but is still completing 63.9 percent of his passes for 1,364 yards and six touchdowns.

His favorite targets have been Kaymon Farmer and Franky Oklafor, with Farmer hauling in 33 catches for 292 yards and Okafor breaking the bigger yardage mark with 25 catches for 357 yards and four touchdowns.

NWOSU is led by Reid Miller who had 1,366 yards passing while completing 60.2 percent of his passes for 12 TD's, but has also tossed 14 interceptions in five games.

The Running game is led by Zachary Doyle who has 119 yards and two scores, while the receiving corps is led by Arte' Miura Jr. and Justin Lord who have four TD's each.

Devin Peyton leads the defense with 52 total tackles, while Joby Saint Fleur has 2.5 sacks and Jordan Norris has four picks.
