DURANT, Okla.  – Southeastern opened its weekend with a 7-2 win over Collin County CC at the Southeastern Tennis Complex and finished it in style with an 8-1 regional win over Emporia State on Sunday afternoon in Emporia, Kan.

The wins lift the men's team to 12-2 on the season heading into a big Great American conference matchup against Ouachita Baptist on April 3.

The Savage Storm swept its way through doubles against ESU on Sunday, with
Alberto Blesa and
Tiago Ferreira picking up an 8-2 win at number one.
Â
That was followed with an 8-6 win by
Maxim Fil and
Jack Gibbens at number two, with
Petar Popovic and
Paul Nguyen rounding out the sweep with an 8-5 win at number three for a 3-0 lead in the match.

Fill would stretch that to 4-0 with a hard-fought 6-1, 3-6, 6-0 win at number one singles.

Blesa would then follow with the match clinching win, taking two singles 6-2, 6-3.

Ferreira followed suit with a 6-3, 7-5 win at number three and Gibbens added a 6-2, 7-5 win at number four.

ESU would get its lone win at number five, but
Joaquin Aguilera would round out the 8-1 win with a 7-6, 0-6, 10-1 win at number six singles.

SE was nearly as dominant in Friday's match, with Fil and Gibbens teaming up at one doubles for an 8-6 win, while Popovic and Nguyen followed with an 8-5 win at number two.

CCCC would pick up a win at three doubles and the Storm would take a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Blesa would push the lead to 3-1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number one singles, with Ferreira picking up a win at number two in a back-and-forth 6-1, 2-6, 6-3 matchup.

Gibbens would clinch the match with a 6-4, 6-3 win at number four to open up a 5-1 lead.

Popovic added a 6-3, 6-2 win at number four and Aguilera chipped in a 6-2, 6-2 win at number five to make the score 7-1, but CCCC would swipe a win at number six to make the final 7-2.
