DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern volleyball returns to Great American conference play on Tuesday, Sept. 22 when it travels to Shawnee to take on conference-newcomer Oklahoma Baptist at 7 p.m. in Shawnee, Okla.
The Savage Storm take to the road with a 2-9 record overall and an 0-1 mark in GAC play to face a Bison team that is 6-7 out of the gate and 1-0 in conference play.
SE comes into the matchup leaning on freshman
Abby Jameson who is averaging 3.68 kills per set and is in the league's top five offensive threats.
She is joined on the attack by
Julia Benford who is adding 2.41 kills per set, while four others are averaging at least one.
Alissa Benson is triggering the offense to the tune of 8.24 assists per set, while
Bayley Cook has split time over the last two matches, adding 3.86 assists per set.
The defense is led along the back row by
Charlene Nerio with 3.86 digs per set, while Jameson is adding 2.512 and six others have chipped in at least one dig per set.
Along the net
Julia Benford leads the way with 23 total blocks, while Arianna baker is at 20 blocks.
OBU is paced by Priscila Mendes at 2.53 kills per set, while Denise Coroiescu and Cat Roth are each over two. Kynnedy Myers is directing the offense with 8.53 assists per set.
Defensively Kaitlyn Lucy leads the back row with 5.67 digs per set, while Roth has 26 total blocks to lead a trio of blockers at the net with 20-plus blocks.
Following its trip to take on the Bison, Southeastern will return home for its true home opener Sept. 24 when it hosts rival East Central in Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium at 7 p.m..
