DURANT, Okla. –
Abby Jameson turned in a 20 kill, 20 dig performance to lead Southeastern to a 3-1 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday night at Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium.
The win lifts the Savage Storm to 2-2 in the Great American Conference on the season and 4-11 overall on the year heading into an Oct. 2 matchup with Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva, Okla.
Jameson turned in her 20 kills while hitting .341 for the match and added a season-best 20 digs for the first 20-20 game of her career.
She was joined in double-figures by
Arianna Baker who turned in 14 kills while hitting .619 on 21 attempts, while
Julia Benford and
Jessica Baker each added eight kills.
Alissa Benson finished the match with 49 assists and chipped in across the board with five kills and nine digs.
Jameson's 20 digs led all defensive players in the match, while
Charlene Nerio added 14 and
Kristina Bergman chipped in 11.
The Storm held a 6.0-to-1.0 edge in blocks, led by three by
Arianna Baker.
In the first set SE used a 7-0 run late to pull away for a convincing 25-14 win.
However, the Bulldogs bounced back in the second set and evened the match at 1-1 with a 25-21 win.
The Storm took an early lead in the third set and slowly pulled away late thanks to a 7-2 run, eventually taking the set 25-15 for a 2-1 lead.
In the fourth set SE used a 12-7 stretch early in the match to open up a 13-7 lead, holding off a pair of rally attempt to take the clinching set 25-21.
