MAGNOLIA, Ark. – Southeastern snapped a six-match losing streak after rallying for a 3-1 win at Southern Arkansas on Saturday afternoon in Magnolia, Ark.

The win lifts the Savage Storm to 8-15 overall on the season and 2-9 in Great American conference play.

Abby Jameson turned in a match-high 18 kills, while Brittney Owens added 10 and Karine Cavalcante chipped in nine.

Alissa Benson dished out 46 assists to trigger the offense while completing a double-double with 15 digs on defense.

It was Caitlin Cosby who again paced all defenders on the back row with 29 digs, while Cavalcante added 17, Benson chipped in 15 and Kristi Carter added 11.

Arianna Baker posted three blocks on the contest, while Julia Benford added two.

A 14-2 run by SAU in the first set would allow them to pull away for a 25-20 win in set one.

The Storm would use runs of 5-0 and 6-1 in the second set to take a lead and pull away for a 25-18 win which evened the match at 1-1.

The momentum carried over into the third set where the Storm jumped out to a 10-2 lead and led by as many as 19-7 before taking the set 25-12 to open up a 2-1 lead.

Another strong start to the fourth set gave SE an 8-3 lead, but it was an 8-0 run midway through the midway portion of the match to open up a 16-5 lead and would pull away for a 25-13 win in the clinching set.
