SE On the Road to Face Muleriders

DURANT, Okla. – No. 25 Southeastern will set out to shake off its first loss of the season when it hits the road for a matchup with Southern Arkansas at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in Magnolia, Ark.

Fans can catch the game on the Southeastern Sports Network with Jay Lindly, Ed Meacham and Brian Crozier locally on Mix. 96.1 FM or online at GoSoutheastern.com/SESportsNet.

This will be the 42nd meeting between the Conference rivals, making it the second longest running series the Savage Storm have against an Arkansas school behind the 54 contests against Ouachita Baptist.

SAU currently holds the edge in the series by a 21-17-3 margin, however since joining the Great American Conference the series has alternated winners as SE has wins in 2011, 2013, and 2015, with the Muleriders winning in 2012, 2014, and 2016.

The Storm maintains a lead in the GAC standings with its 6-1 record, while Arkansas Tech, OBU and SAU are tied for second at 5-2.

Southeastern comes in averaging 34.6 ppg on offense, while holding opponents to 20.7 ppg defensively.

The storm will be looking to re-establish it's running game, which despite being held to a season-low 113 yards a week ago is still averaging 189.0 yards per game, led by Rashod Polk who has piled up 545 yards on 99 carries with six touchdowns.

Through the air Austin Skinner has 604 yards passing while completing 55.4 percent of his passes with three touchdowns, while Jaylen Sims and Drake White have emerged as his top two targets with Sims tallying a team-high 25 catches for 320 yards and three scores, while White has 19 catches for a team-best 363 yards and three TDs.

Troy Parker leads the defensive charge with 43 tackles on the season along with a pair of fumble recoveries, while Seu Luafatasaga has tallied 34 stops and two forced fumbles, while Larry Bridges leads the team with three interceptions.

Barrett Renner paces the SAU offense from the quarterback position and has 1,879 yards while completing 67 percent of his passes with 21 touchdown tosses, with his top target being Tanner Hudson who has 31 catches for 374 yards and five scores.

Michael Nunnery leads the rushing attack with 521 on 95 carries with five touchdowns.

Algin Moore leads the team in tackles with 49, while Davondrick Lison has racked up seven sacks.

The Muleriders are scoring 32.6 ppg, while allowing  24.9 per contest.
