DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern will embark on the 2018 season on Thursday, Aug. 30 when it hosts conference rival Southern Nazarene at 6 p.m. at Paul Laird Field.

Jay Lindly heads into his third season calling the action and will be joined in the box by Ed Meacham with Rob Johnson working the sidelines

The Savage Storm head into the 2018 season picked to finish fourth according to the Great American Conference Preseason Poll.

SE earned 86 points in the voting as well as garnering one of the 12 first-place votes and was tied with Arkansas Tech in the poll who had the same point total minus the first-place vote.

Southeastern finished the 2017 season with a 7-4 record overall which included a six-game winning streak and a season-ending win over rival ECU.

The Storm return its top four rushers from a season ago, highlighted by
Rashod Polk who finished with 727 yards and seven touchdowns, as well as two of its top three receivers in
Jaylen Sims and
Skye Lowe who combined for 60 catches, nearly 800 yards and four touchdowns.

The defense returns
Troy Parker who picked up 58 tackles and an interception in the backfield and
Seu Luafatasaga up front where he recorded 52 stops and 5.5 TFL and a pair of forced fumbles.

Southern Nazarene enters the game picked to finish ninth in the league after a 4-7 season a year ago and return 35 letterwinners and 14 starters from that squad.

They will be led by Jacob Spady who led the team in rushing and passing with 907 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground while throwing for 922 yards and 11 TD's through the air.
