DURANT, Okla. – Southeastern looks to build off a win in its last outing and keep itself in the mix of the Great American Conference standings when it hosts Ouachita Baptist at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 24 in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
The Savage Storm come into the meeting with a 10-5 record overall on the year and a 6-5 mark in Great American Conference play which ranks seventh, but just a game behind fourth place.
The game will also see head coach
Kelly Green seeking his 100
th victory as the head coach of the Savage Storm, this after celebrating his 500
th overall career win after a win in the home opener.
SE is the league's number two scoring offense behind Oklahoma Baptist, putting up 79.9 ppg on the year while ranking second in scoring margin at plus-9.8 ppg.
The Storm offense is paced by
Kevin Buckingham who is fifth in the league in scoring and is averaging 17.7 ppg to lead a trio of double-digit scorers. He is hitting 59.8 percent of his shots which is fourth best in the league, while leading the conference in rebounding with 9.4 rpg.
He is joined in double-digits by
Kellen Manek who is averaging 14.2 oppg and is in the league's top-15 scorers, while
Jett Jobe is putting up 11.7 per outing, While
Kayo Goncalves and
Adam Dworsky are each averaging eight points or more.
OBU enters the weekend eighth in the league standings at 4-6 and are 7-7 overall on the season.
The Tigers are 10
th in scoring at 72.4 ppg, while their defense is ranked sixth and is allowing 74.5 ppg.
Mahlon Martin is the team's only scorer in double-figures, averaging 15.1 ppg while leading the team in assists with 3.1 per outing. Matt Stanley leads the way on the glass for the squad with 5.2 rpg.
